In the year 1990 GEC (The General Electrical Company of India, a U.K based Company) with its head office at Kolkata, approached the founder director of the company Mr. Bihari Lal to start a radiator unit to meet the demand to meet the demand of the GEC as the same were being either imported or had to travelled long distance to reach its manufacturing facility at Allahabad and Kolkata.

The factory was started in a rented building of 2500 sq. meter with technical support of GEC (ALSTOM). By this time the company GEC was collaborated with FRENCH MNC ALSThOM.

In the year 2001: GEC, ALSTOM Deputed their top management personnel Mr. K.V. Char, a recognized name in the transformer industry, who later became the Managing Director of the company on the board. With this team of Directors, Mr. Bihari Lal and Mr. K.V Char & with dedicated staff member the company has grown from strength to strength over the years. Later Mr. Bharat Lal, son of Mr. Bihari Lal joined this company to take it to the new heights.

In the year 2002: The company shifted to its owner premises at UPSIDC Industrial area, Naini Allahabad, built upon an area of 11000 sq. meters. To meet the ever increasing demand of the radiators from transformer manufacturers.

In the year 2005: GRPL decided to concentrate only on one product, i.e. fin type radiators and hence stopped the manufacturing of transformer tanks and yoke clamps (End frames).

In the year 2007: GRPL carried out the expansion to double its capacity, to meet the ever increasing demand of the radiators from the transformer manufacturers. As these companies were exporting transformer, they started using GRPL manufactured radiators on their transformer, considering the excellent quality of the radiators. Now with a fine manufacturing of almost 15 M.T/Day, we were named among leading radiator manufacturing companies in INDIA.

In the year 2016: GRPL came up with its new manufacturing facility, installed with fully automatic fin forming machine in order to meet the demands as well as to keep up with the quality. The production of radiator is accompanied by Assembly and Welding fixtures for better accuracy and speed. By this time the capacity of the plant became 600 MT/ Month.

In the year 2019: GRPL came up with a new facility for manufacturing corrugated panels & distribution transformer tanks. The facility comprises of fully automatic panel manufacturing machine, CNC Plasma cutting machine, Bending machine, etc.
